Take Time to Say Thank You with Free Thanksgiving ePraise

Are you ready for turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie? Mmmmm, I know I am! In my book, Thanksgiving is one of the best food holidays. What’s not to love about all that glorious food?!
More importantly, Thanksgiving is a reminder of the value of saying “thank you.” In our busy lives, we often forget to thank a coworker who did something extra that made our lives a little easier.

I’m sure you’ve all had an experience where you wanted to thank someone but simply ran out of time. It may have been a day when you felt like you were running at a sprint the minute you got into the office. On days like that, you know you can’t make it to the finish line without help from your teammates. The problem is you’re so exhausted when you stop running that you forget to send a quick note of thanks.

Thanksgiving is a time to catch up and send the thank you notes that may have fallen off your to-do list. Don’t worry about the timing of your note. The most meaningful thank you is the one that gets sent!

For instance, every year around Thanksgiving my husband’s employer sends a greeting card to our home. The card has a Thanksgiving look and feel with a message of thanks and the signatures of each of the company executives. It’s not my husband’s birthday or anniversary, but his employer knows the importance of acknowledging their employees at this time of year. It’s sent to our home, not dropped on his desk, so I know the company is thanking me, too. We display the card on our counter for a couple of weeks around the holiday.

Do you have an employee who’s been putting in extra hours? Send a thank you card to her family.

Has one of your coworkers been your trusty wing-man on an intense project? Send him a thank you.

Does your teammate brighten the office with her positive attitude? Let her know you appreciate it!

Send a Free Thanksgiving ePraise

This week, take the time to send the thank yous you’ve wanted to send. We’ve made it easy for you with our free Thanksgiving ePraise cards. Select a card design, write a note, and schedule it for delivery before or on Thanksgiving. Your personal note will make you and the recipient feel thankful this holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Valentine’s Day is Here: Time to Encourage More Love in Your Workplace!

Love at the office? Under normal circumstances, this is probably not recommended. But the kind of love I’m talking about is mutual respect, admiration, and appreciation for the people we work with—and I’ve sure seen a lot of it around the ‘ville lately!

Like when I walk past our lunchroom and see the tables filled with people from all departments breaking bread together. Or pause at the Shout Out Wall to read all the sincere accolades Baudvillians are giving their peers. Or when I see people get truly enthusiastic when they give thanks and compliments to their co-workers.

There’s a heck of a lot of love here at Baudville, and it makes me really happy to know that we’ve built a family here that, well, feels like a family.

Does this sound like the kind of workplace you’d like to have?

What Are You Thankful For?

The time around Thanksgiving causes us to pause, reflect on the things we’re thankful for, and express our thanks and gratitude. At Baudville, we asked our employees to share their thankfulness with us through a picture and brief description.

We received many submissions from our thankful employees expressing gratitude for their families, friends, homes, and even co-workers! You can read all the submissions on the Baudville Facebook page.

What am I thankful for? I'm thankful to live in Michigan - one of the most beautiful places on earth! - and be close to my friends and family. This picture says it all! It’s from Northern Michigan in early October. Aren’t the colors amazing?

How To Write a Recognition Ecard

by Cori
6. June 2011 08:08
Cori

We offer a free service on our website called ePraise which are recognition ecards you can send to coworkers, peers, or anyone you want to thank or recognize. We have over 110 different designs for birthdays, anniversaries, teachers, nurses, volunteers, and to simply say thanks.

Although writing a recognition ecard  seems like a pretty simple thing to do, many of use don’t do it. Why? We have every intention of typing one, but when the fingers touch the keys, we draw a blank. We have no idea what to say!

Here are a few simple tips that will help you type a recognition ecard that is meaningful, personal, and sincere:

Sample ePraise recognition ecard.

1. Describe the action, behavior or result you are recognizing. Did you observe the person delivering excellent customer service? Did they provide a referral or a critical piece of information so that you could meet an important deadline? Did they help you out of a jam at the last minute? Be specific about what they did, not just "Thanks for a great job."

2. Explain why it is important to you or the organization. Did it help you achieve a goal or make your job easier? If possible, create the link between their behavior and the organization's values and mission.

3. Reflect back to the person. What is it about the way they did it? Talk about how their action reflects a personal quality of the giver, such as integrity, initiative, or follow through.

ePraise - send free recognition ecards anytime, anyday for any occasion!
