Baudville Named One of West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For

by Brad 27. March 2012 07:00
Brad
I am proud to announce that Baudville has been named one of West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For! The Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) annually bestows the honor upon companies that distinguish themselves as having the most innovative and thoughtful human resources approach. Baudville has won the award five times in the past six years.

We’re excited to be recognized once again as an outstanding West Michigan workplace. Winning awards is obviously great, but for us it’s another reminder of how incredible our employees are. Our team is definitely what makes Baudville one of the best!

Even though the official West Michigan 101 Best and Brightest award ceremony isn’t until May 3, our employees have already celebrated the award with a week of casual days, a highly coveted reward, and I plan to continue the celebration.
Baudville is a Best and Brightest Company to Work ForAs a leader in employee recognition, we take our awards very seriously. Previous 101 Best and Brightest awards have been commemorated with treats personally delivered to employees by the me and our CFO. Delicious slices of Grand Traverse Pie Company pie has been a past employee favorite!

This award is sought after by hundreds of West Michigan area companies and is a powerful recruitment tool in the drive to attract and retain exceptional employees. The award honors West Michigan companies who practice innovative strategies and represent best practices in human resources in industries as diverse as the automotive, insurance, hospitality, communications and nonprofit.

Winners are selected after an independent research firm evaluates each entry based on an employee engagement survey and key measures in eleven categories, such as employee engagement, compensation,  employee recognition, and diversity.

Our employees are very excited about this award, and we are already gunning for a place on the list next year!

Cheers!

Will Your Employee Appreciation Day be of Olympic Proportions?

by Brad 2. March 2012 07:00
Brad

It’s Employee Appreciation Day, and instead of whooping it up with my team, I’m in Seattle preparing to wow attendees of the NAIS Annual Conference with our favorite IDville products. As I get set up, I can’t help but think about the whole Baudville office abuzz with energy.

If you’re a follower of the goings on here at Baudville, then you know that we always have a theme for Employee Appreciation Day. This year we’re harnessing the essence of the Summer Olympics, and with the help of our Spirit Team, it promises to be a memorable day filled with team building, medal-achieving activities for everyone.

While the theme may change from year to year, there is always one constant: a handwritten appreciation note waiting at each employee’s desk from their manager. It’s a great way to kick off the day, and gives the recipient a lasting reminder of their value to the company.

While I head off to limber up for my big day, I encourage you to take a moment to write a personal thank you note to every member of your team. After all, it’s your day to show some appreciation!

Promote Appreciation and Kindness During Random Acts of Kindness Week

by Brad 27. January 2012 07:00
Brad

There I was sitting at an intersection…just patiently waiting for the red light to turn green and then inspiration hit. I reached to the backseat to grab my padfolio to jot down this light bulb moment and just then something else hit me – the cacophony of a fellow driver’s horn. Now this was no courtesy toot – this was a six-second blast. I mean, I had time to look in the rearview mirror and see a normally kindly gentlemen with a look on his face like I had just insulted his grandmother. And for what? Five seconds of inconvenience?

You probably know that here at Baudville we try to promote frequent and sincere appreciation of our fellow team members as a way to boost camaraderie, engagement, and motivation in the workplace. But my little brush with a fellow human’s short fuse got me thinking perhaps I need to widen my focus a bit.

Well, it just so happens that Random Acts of Kindness Week is coming February 13-19, and for me the timing couldn’t be better. Perhaps our country at large is in need of a little love as well? Just think about all the people we interact with on a daily basis: the store clerks, letter carriers, public servants, fellow commuters, and complete strangers. What can we do to send some goodwill their way?

We can start by laying off the horn – figuratively and literally.

If you need ideas or free tools to join this mission, visit our Recognition Resource Center. There’s a new free download all about Random Acts of Kindness and a whole lot more there as well. Go ahead, give it a try!

Brad

Although the Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone, at Baudville, we don’t see any reason to stop being thankful. In fact, we like to think we’re just getting warmed up!

As we reflect on the year, we can’t help but feel deep appreciation for those who make our business thrive: that’s you! We realize that you, our loyal customers, are truly essential to our success. Thank you!

We hope we can give back to you by continuing to provide you with products and resources that help your company be the best it can be. To do just that, we’ve been working over the past months to bring you a great batch of new products that you can use to start off the new year with excitement and enthusiasm. Watch for them in January, and until then…

Cheers to a happy and prosperous holiday season!

Make the Most of Your Holidays!

by Brad 4. November 2011 11:18
Brad

During the holidays, there’s so much eating, and shopping, and decorating going on that it’s easy to get completely lost in the whirlwind of activity. When they’re over, what’s left? Maybe a few extra pounds around the middle, a few bills to pay, and a lot of order to restore.

In a matter of weeks, it will be like none of it even happened. But, is that what you want?

You can make this season more memorable for everyone on your team by showing them appreciation and respect for all their efforts throughout the year – the efforts that contribute to your business success.

Whether you give an engraved spinner ornament or gifts from our holiday themes – or go more formal by presenting trophies or certificates at a year-end award ceremony, you’ll make a lasting impression that will continue to motivate your team well into the new year.

Cheers!

How do you celebrate the end of the year with your team?
